Two 2015 calendars have been released to help raise funds for birdlife and stray dogs
Stunning shots of North Cyprus birdlife and pin-up portraits of stray dogs are featured in two 2015 calendars this month to raise funds for wildlife and street dog care.
The North Cyprus wildlife protection charity Kuskor offers 14 high quality, glossy photos taken by local photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.
The calendar is in English and Turkish and includes holiday periods for both cultures.
Wildlife photographer and Kuskor member Olkan Erguler said: “The calendar is free to Kuskor members so join now for 25TL and get concessions on bird watching trips too.”
Priced at 10TL for non-members, all funds raised from calendar sales will go towards funding ongoing avian research and field work in the TRNC.
Stray dogs also got a professional make-over for a 2015 calendar, volunteered by photography and architecture academic Mustafa Batibeniz, which has already sold 1,000 copies.
Gazi Magusa-born Mr Batibeniz,28, said:” I did this to support all the people helping strays and all of the 10TL price will go towards feed and improving the shelter.
“It has been so successful that we are reprinting and copies can be ordered by calling me on 0533 877 8320.”
Kuskor calendar sales points include Karakum’s Mermaid Fabrics or the Comfy Pet Shop, Santa market stall at Catalkoy Lemar Saturday market, The English School of Kyrenia reception, The Grapevine Restaurant in Girne or Lefkosa’s Jago Pet Shop in the Marmara district.
