PLANS to build a controversial $125 petrol storage facility project will be scrapped according to the Prime Minister in an exclusive statement to Cyprus Today.
The remarks were made after a Council of Ministers meeting last Wednesday during which actions were taken tocancel previous decisions including renting out a 70 donum plot in Kalecik on the east coast to Swiss based Rixo Ltd which planned to build a facility thre.
The stance of the Premier angered petrol bosses but was welcomed by environmentalists who have been lobbying to get the permissions previously issued revoked. Speaking to Cyprus Today said: We are against having petrol-based investments . We will discuss in our Council of Ministers meeting this Monday how such investments can be regulated and prevent new ones from being built
